I have to rehydrate a open mouth bobcat to fix the nose area. I need to add more clay to the nose. It looks too flat (so the customer thinks). I have already finished the open mouth with apoxie sculpt and it has been painted.
I'm not really sure how to go about fixing the nose are if I can't get the apoxie to rehydrate.
I used buckeye supreme hide paste. The hide was tanned in my auto tanner with the tanning crystals that are made for the tanner.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Terri

Rebuild the nose with your sculpting apoxie. Texture it by stiffleing it with an ole toothbrush, or dip a terri towel in some lacquer thinner and gentle dab it to texture. Re paint it and be done.

You won`t get it to rehydrate but ya should be able to fix this pretty easy...just rehydrate the nose and skin back to the corner of the eye...slide an upholstery pin under the nose pad and work apoxie underneith the nose pad..leave the lipline alone...let me guess---Research manikin...
filled my wedding ring diamonds in (gift from my wife) - saoked overnite and came clean
Thanks for the responses everyone.
Yes Travis it was a research mannikin. Guess I learned a little about cats. I usually use McKenzie forms for cats but couldn't find one close to the size or style.
There is an apoxie sculpt solvent that dissolves the stuff available through most of the supply companies
The nose on a cat when he snarls actually pulls back farther on the face...I would try to find a profile picture of a snarling cat and show this to your customer. ..it may be that you`re mount was correct in the first place
