Brown bear

I am looking for recommendations for a tannery. I have a large brown bear for life size and would like to find a tannery whith a good track record on bear skins. Your input would be much appreciated. I've always tanned my own work but this thing scares me. Thanks in advance, Steve

My Choices

Carolina Fur Dressing or Wildlife Fur Dressing. There are other good fur dressing companies , but when it comes to trusting someone with a major prize I would use one of these. If we knew what part of the country you live in, someone might possibly recommend a dresser that is close and you could go and take a look their work.

Wildlife Gallery

I would recommend the Wildlife Gallery in Blanchard Michigan.

I drove a buffalo hide down there in January. I got it back about 2 weeks ago. They did a great job on it.

While I was there I got to look around a bit. They had just finished up a few bear rugs. They had a very nice soft tan.

They even called me to see if I was satisfied with the tanning job on the buffalo.

Thank you

Thanks OldFart and Terri, I live in Eastern Missouri. I know of one tannery here in Missouri, but I can't recommend them to anyone. I'll inquire with those you have mentioned. Thanks again, Steve
