bear rug

Do you soak the hole skin to do a rug or just the head before mounting,andmist the rest? what is the best to do? thanks for any help

Head and feet

I soak the head and feet only. The rest I take a water bottle and spray it with that and place it in the fridge over night.

Ronnie,
Soak the head first only! After that is mounted and dry, then you soak the feet for 1 hour or so...until the toe pad interdigital area is pliable enough to position toes. Then lay the rug hair side down and sponge water w/ a little liquid tide (about 1 tblspoon to 3-4 gallons of water,to help soften leather) Do not allow water to pool. Place heavy plastic on the leather to help promote sweating. Leave on for a few hours or overnight. Any questions...e-mail or call.
