How to clean a Polar Bear Rug?

I recently recieved a polar bear rug from my grandmothers estate. Unfortunately it was in England in a coal smoke environment. The rug is approximately 50 years old, very dirty and has a felt backing with some moth damage which will also require replacing. I'm lookin for information on how to safely clean the rug as it has great sentimental value.
Thank you for your assistance

than taking it to a taxidermist or a museum to have it done! Old tans tend to deteriote over time and become very fragile. Please take it to a professional! Joseph R Osborn (Hunter's Dream Taxidermy)
