Hey.. Also I need to know who is the best Tannery to send a couple of brown bears to.. Quick turn around and good quality work..
Scroll down to the "Tanneries" and start calling. They'll give you pricing and turn arounds on bears.
I just finished my baboon. I did an open mouth and I used a Jonas form. Turned out great. Vandyke and McKenzie also has forms. Jonas has 15% of everything until July 31. Jim
Thanks ya'll.. I appreciate the help... That to me is what this forum is all about.. And George, I know all about the links I just wanted another taxidermist oppinion as to who is a great tannery... I could call all of them and get their spill, but that would just give me alot of b.s... I wanted your oppinion a fellow taxidermist.. Thanks anyway..
..like some other things. The tanneries I use are the very best TO ME yet others swear at them instead of by them. I don't think any reputable taxidermist is going to come on here, on an open forum, and tell you what you want to hear. I know I could never do it with a clear and open conscience, without thinking I was slamming some tannery guy who works hard to make a living just as I do. I don't think it's very professional. You ask questions like that in private emails if you truly want a personal opinion.
You are right.. I never realy thought about this forum as it is.. I would like your personal opinion.. Will you e-mail it to me please.. I have a customer that spends alot of money each year on taxidermy work and I would like to do an above average job for him.. Money is not an option to this guy.. He will spend close to 120000.00 a year in taxidermy work alone.. Customers like that are hard to find and I like to keep them when I do find one! The two brown bear he just sent me were from Romania.. If that makes a difference in what tannery I should use..
Send them to the Wildlife Gallery. Prices commensurate with quality, i.e. very high and very high, but this is coming from someone who's never used them. I'm just repeating what I've seen. Get references. Call the guys at Jonas. They seem to be "the" people to handle the "rarest" of trophies.
