has anyone done a summer coyote ? a guy called me yesterday with one.its got good hair on it.a lil thin around the ears.nothing near a winter coat though.the guy that got it is family and i couldnt talk him out of it nor could i say no because it is his first coyote.what are the odds of this thing looking decent in the end? i really have my doubts because og its thin summer coat.

I did a summer fox last year. It was a road kill. I told the customer I couldn't guarantee the skin would make it through tanning, but I would try none the less. They insisted on having it done. It had a short coat....but it wasn't an ugly fox at all. I did get a small amount of slippage...but it mounted up fine.
Now don't get me wrong, it was a far cry from a prime coat, but it really did not turn out all that bad. You need to use your judgement on that one whether you think it will look okay.
I know a fox is not a coyote, but figured they would kinda fall into the same category and I hope that helps you.
