This is weird

this weekend I shot a sow pig that had two matching (skin tags) at the back of her jaw that were abought 4inches long and and inch or two in diamiter. they wher black like here and had hair on them. can any one tell me what this is. and are any of you from florida.

I think the consensus at that time was that the tags are hereditary and seem to be confined to feral hogs. I wish I knew where it was in the archives, but I don't. Sorry.

It is hereditary, but is from the spanish strain of hogs. Spanish hogs
are all black and do not exceed 150#. The skin tags, while not present on most is another indicator of the spanish breed. Another trait is what is called "Mule Feet". It is more rare than the skin tags. Mule feet is simply one "toe" or hoove like a horse or mule instead of the normal 2.
