Cannot figure a price for you own deer heads you are lost from the word go.
How much does it cost you?
how much do you want to make?
How are you going to pay for insurance and operating overhead?
What tom is charging in another state should have nothing to do with what you need to do. You are to sole person responsible for your business and its sucess or failure,trying to price with everyone else is going to hurt you in the long run.
It has been said about a million times on here do top quailty work get top rate, do crap work, find another job cause your going to need it.

Thanks Todd. Paul, if you didn't feel like answering why bother typing all you did. I agree with you that it's all about quality. That's not where I have difficulty. I've already figured all my costs, and I know what I'de like to make but I am pretty new to this. I get my asking price for deer and my quality has led to these above jobs. I just don't want to "rape" these guys, because "I think this is where the price should be". I've never sent out skulls for european and I've never sent things out for rugging. I know I can call and get prices on these things but do I mark it up 40% like I would in my slave job or what. The reason for asking deer prices was for a figure, ie. I get $300, which is above average here, but a buddy of mine in PA gets $675. Just looking for an average.

They will rape you in a second if you let them. maybe not these particular fella's but the next guy down the road will.
You say you do quailty work then charge for it.
Hell give them a free mount your a nice guy
Or charge what you feel your worth, its your business to run.
They dont like your price let them go down the road, but if the quailty is there they wont hesitate to have you do the work.
