Hey i need your opinions here. I got a baby cyote in and was wondering how much to charge the guy just for the mount. I already told him the base would be about 800$ but wasn't sure on the cyote. I know they dont make forms for babies so it will consume more of my time. I dont know how to carcass cast yet so i am gonna go with a fox form and go from there. How much shoul i charge?

Your way over priced and not qualified to do the work. Turn it over to a professional. You might be sued!
If you're using a fox form, I'd think the price and work would be similar to mounting an acutal fox. There may be some additional labor in altering the form if need be, but nothing drastic....
Not to critisize, but a yote pup and an $800 base.. must be a very large dramatic diorama. Will there be other animals in the scene?
*****runs quickly back to bird forum after realizing he is in a mammal forum.. OI**********
Jon~
ok abe truth. 800$ is really cheap for the base i'm doing. it's gonna be 8' wide and it's gonna have a den and a couple grouse flying away in it with a watering hole with fish underneath the plexiglass. How do u say i'm over priced and not capable of doing the work. U have no idea what i'm capable of. There are alot of words i would like to say now but i'm not gonna. This mount is gonna be for my buddy and i have done tons of mammals before but nothing that i didn't have a manikin for. i just wasn't sure on what u guy's charge due to not having a maniken available and have to put in the labor of carcass casting or altering a form. So abe truth,....... nevermind i wont even say it.
With a dynamic base as you describe, that would seem a fair price for a pup yote. Now on a PERSONAL NOTE, the 8 foot diorama seems a little extreme. With dioramas, their impact visually is often better when your centerpiece animal doesn't have distractions. A base that big is going to have lots of open space or it's going to be cluttered with extraneous materials and mounts that would again, take away from your centerpiece animal. Just my opinion, and I understand you never asked for it.
My husband and I mounted a coyote pup on a red fox form and it worked great. It fit perfect and we didn't even have to alter the form. Good luck!
Ya, he is a big outdoorsman and the whole border of his hunting room is filled with animals. and the one wall he has left is 8 ft. and wants to add to the base when he gets another animal. So it really isn't that bad at all. Good to hear that the fox forms worked out great.
