Hello. I just received a nice black bear skin rug which is in nice condition and looks great. It's not very old, apparently. However, it was stored in a damp basement before I got it and it has some patches of mold growing on it. Is there anything which can be used to remove the mold without damaging or altering the skin itself? I'm afraid to do anything to it for fear of damaging it. ANy help would be tremendously appreciated. Thanks......

Wipe it down with acetone.It will take it right off and should stop it the growth too.Do it outside if possible.Just remember you are dealing with a flammable liquid and stay away from ignition sources.
