cleaning albino coon

Submitted by mimes on 9/27/05 at 2:24 PM. ( ) 64.233.135.28

Getting ready to mount an albino coon. It is a true albino, but the fur has a yellow tint. I figure from dirt, stains, and "oils". Will wash multiple times in Dawn, but was also thinking of giving it a good soaking in a strong bath of Iron Out. Anyone else have any ideas or EXPERIENCE in whitening up a yellowed albino? thanks

There was an article about bleaching fur in one of the mags. I can't remember which one, but if you're interested e-mail me and I'll look it up.

Was looking at my new catalog today and Van Dykes sells a product called Basic White. Says that it's good for cleaning dall sheep and I bet it would help with taking the yellow tint out of your coon. Good luck,
Nina
