Greetings to all.
I recently caught a very large beaver and want to rug it, complete with the rug shell and such. My question concerns the webbing between the back toes. I have never dealt with a beaver in any way shape or form, other than a flat pelt tanned out. Will Preservz it (or some similar solution) do the trick? I would LOVE to hear from anyone who has had experience with the hindfeet on beaver. Thanks in advance for any advice that's given; it is appreciated.

You need to turn the web all the way to the edge, just as you do an ear!
Then you can pack the entire web/toe area with clay and smooth it and shape it after you place the mount on its base.
You could also oil the inside of the web/toe area lightly and then pack it with epoxy material; then shape it and add the toe bone detail.
once the epoxy sets you can remove it, wipe the interior of the foot
with solvent ot remove the oil, and then use hide paste to install the "feet" when you put the mount together.
Might also be able to carve an insert from scrap foam and glue it in!
