Anyone ever seen an elk with a 37 inch neck? None of my catologs have forms that large.

I mount apx 50 to 70 elk every year since 1976 here in northern Wyoming. 34" is a "really" big neck measured on the meat. You can get the cape to strech larger, but why? I have mounted several 400 B&C size elk and they all fit perfect on 32 or 34" neck forms; most on the 32 size.
I have got a elk cape still need to mount, but it measures 38" right behind the ears, biggest form I can find is 34" neck so I am going to get that and alter it and make it 38" neck like it was when it was alive.
Although I have to agree with JimM, they still are fine, why push the size, sometimes those buggers are just plain that big! I know of a bull in captivity right now that has a super swelled neck, the biggest Ive ever seen. I alter the forms to provide for the long hair down the front of the neck, some call it a mane, I dont. But the added material to make the neck sag and show off that "ruff" will usually use up the remaining neck circumference.
