skunk odor

I am sure that this question is posted somewhere as it should be fairly common. I just shot (15 minutes ago) a nuisance skunk in my backyard with a 20 ga #5's from 30 yds. Good specimen -- but he stinks. Do I have to deal with the stinch while I skin him? I think I know the answer to this question, but any tip's would help.

In the time it took you to type your question, you could have clicked the orange SEARCH and type in "skunk odor" and found 19 postings with several recipes for your problem.

George, in the time that it took you to read my post, you should of realized that I was looking for a quick response. I was not looking for a smart remark about my query. I did not know that orange buttons were cure alls as I arrtived at this page through many a trial and error. I never even saw an orange color however I got here. I do, however, appreciate your gracious dedication to contributing to the needs of fellow taxidermists out of the goodness of your soul.

Oh and by the way. If it doesn't pertain to you -- don't answer.

I'm a little confused. First you ask a question on the "Forum" and are directed to use the search button. Your response was to lambast the one that directed you there...telling him that you were looking for a "quick response"...Gosh! You can't get much quicker than using the search feature. Then you tell him that if it didn't pertain to him, not to answer. Surely you recognize that this is a forum where you ask questions of others. If people didn't answer questions that didn't pertain to them...there would be no forum. I suspect you may have shaved your own hide a little too thin.

Uh, Buck, do you want off the Christmas card list?

"Quick Answer" imply gasoline asses whose self-created problems are now supposed to be resolved by others. Your dumass question no goes into our archives under that same orange icon so in years to come, others looking to find a recipe for removing skunk odor can see how lazy you were and what an ingrate you were. Oh well, sucks to be you I suppose. And by the way, "If the shoe fits, wear it."
