mounting hide to felt

Any information on how to fasten a large hide to felt would be appreciated. Would like to find a way to glue instead of stitching.. The hide is already tanned but a little bit stiff..

Hot glue is the biggest farce you'll find. Oh, it sticks really well as you do it, but don't you DARE bend that hide a few days, weeks, months, years later. Tanned hides have oil in them and the glue eventually disbonds. It pisses me off when someone brings me in a bear rug done by someone using hot glue. It invariably has a big felt balloon under it were the glue disbonded and on the cheap assed ones, the entire felt is flapping in the breeze. Glue is use to TACK the hide to the fill and to the felt. Once that's done and it's trimmed, any REPUTABLE rugger will bind the edges and quilt tie the center of the rug in 8 to 10 inch squares. I use the spray super tacky 3M spray glue to tack my materials. When they're trimmed, then I go to the needle and thread.
