Hi,
I am not sure whether to oil commercially tanned dry hides after rehydrating and before mounting. If it is necessary what sort of oil should I use. Thanks in advance to anyone who can enlighten me with their knowledge.

Just rehydrate in water with a hand full of salt for about 1/2 to 1 hour, bag and refridgerate over night. Commerical tanned capes and hides are allready oiled.
