A friend of mine called and said he had a strange looking racoon climb up on his deck and die.I went over and saw the coon. It is a very light color,almost looks faded. It has a brown mask and tail rings. The body is cream color with brown tips on fur. Its an average size coon, very fat and beatifull thick fur.The coon is in mint condition,I wore latex gloves when I handled it. It does not show any sign of being sick or injured it looks like it died in its sleep.I know coons can have many diseases. How do you guys think this coon should be handled. I do want to lifesize it. I have it whole in the freezer. Thanks Brent

I would keep handling it with gloves while the skin is still green.Don't dispose of the carcass where other animals can get a hold of it.Burn the carcass if you can.
The color had nothing to do with the mysterious death. Beware of rabies.
