Tip for stinky critters

Here is a tip for you taxidermist that wonder what to do with stinky critters prior to skinning. As a trapper, I've done this alot with great results. Ex. Coyote Take the unskinned coyote and give the whole animal a bath with a good quality shampoo. Hang the yote by the head and let the water drip off for an hour. Do not hang upside down....the water will penetrate rather than drip off. Next, lay the coyote OFF the ground on something air can get all around (wire mesh, etc.) Take a fan an put on high directly under the coyote. In about 6 hours the coyote will be bone dry and much less smelly. If still damp, take a brush and fluff up the fur so the air can dry it out.

for anyone wanting coyotes mounted! By the way Terry, it was a tip for the really stinky ones. I for one, can handle the smell of a normal coyote.
