I have a smallish buffalo hide (apx 5x5,I think) that I insanely decided to tan.I am wondering if it automatically has to be degreased,or if that is a case by case thing.Any other tips on tanning this beast would be appreciated (unless you tell me to send it to the pros!)

Considering all the work involved,it would probably be more cost effective to send it off.I personally don't tan anything bigger than bear,so I don't know if you would have to degrease a buffalo hide.
