I doing a coyote lifesize for my first mount. I had the hide tanned professionaly. Turned out very nice. Is it normal to cut off 1-2 legs and then bondo them back just to get the hide on? Can the ears be turn out more after the tanning process? Thanks, Mike

Everyone has their own ways of doing things but it's normal for me to cut a leg or two off. I make a "v" cut so everthing lines up when I glue back together.

Most of the time the ears will need fine-tuning when returning from the tannery. I leave at least 1/4 inch un-turned. Sometimes sawdust gets caught up in the ears when tumbling and they will blow out. It's a lot easier to turn a 1/4" than sew a blown out ear.

i cut the forms in half
