Trying to mounty a lifesize coon, I have never mounted a coon before and have been told that diesel fuel and or coleman camp fuel works good to break all the fat during degreasing. ( I was amaized how much fat a coon has) I was wondering if anyone had tried this method

Coleman fuel is not a degreaser. If you don't want to buy one from a supply company. Then use dawn dish soap
buy a degreaser from one of the suppliers. Dawn works good for light degreasing, but if you want to do it right you should opt for the good stuff. Coons are greasie critters, also make sure you do a real good fleshing job.
I guess we have two Travis`s now..:)
Mineral Sprirts work great. I use them on bear, stripers, coon, ect...in my opinion there isn`t anything on the taxidermy market that`s strong enough to cut the grease on either of the 3 species I`ve listed above...and I`ve used what are considered to be some of the best degreasers on the market and they come up short..coleman fuel is just too dangerous in my opinion..it`s evaporation cycle can fill a room with fumes in no time...even with mineral spirits all my skins stay outside of any building while soaking..be extra careful..soak him about 2 hours tops...then wash with dawn soap and rinse really good...
THANK YOU FOR THE TIPS, HOPEFULLY IT WILL WORK
