Looking for some Bear Grease...any help out there?

Submitted by Michael on 1/26/06 at 1:01 AM. ( legacyins@juno.com ) 71.51.242.37

The wife needs some Bear Grease to make a poultice, and it's been a long time since I've been able to trek out into the hills. Any chance of anyone out there having some to offer? I've thought about contacting a local Game Warden about vehicular kills. Everyone is so touchy these days in the hills of East Tennessee (our home) about people selling certain bear parts (you all know which). Maybe I could get some fat to render, but it sure would make life a little easier if somone out there would be willing to sell a pint that has already been processed. Please email me with any help to legacyins@juno.com. Many thanks and God Bless!

.....There are places that SELL rendered bear fat. I found that out by researching "soap making". It's not cheap, but I found out why after rendering a batch for possible use in making some soap.

Cute michael

You haven't wised up yet that I'm not going to let a little smear of the NTA get by have you? Why would you need to be enticed into joining the NTA? If you don't have enough personal pride and professionalism, it's like mounting a deer. No one can TEACH you that, you're still expected to do some work on your own.

As far as the directors and their back biting and name calling, what do you really expect? The membership elects 95% of directors on NAME RECOGNITION ALONE. When you have a bunch of talented individuals used to being the king of their own little dominions being forced into reaching agreements with others of like talent (I enjoy calling them prima donnas since I know it ticks Danny and Kims Owens off), they usually don't play well with others. This industry is STILL filled with eccentrics and that's not going to change when the members vote them in. I've tried for years to understand why anyone would WANT to be a director(especially when someone like you, sitting on your ass outside the organization I assume, take cheap shots at them). Is it to fill a resume? I'm sure that fit on some of their agendas. But for the number of directors, there's still over 50% of them who are so enamored with themselves that they don't feel the need to do anything at the convention. They feel that their meer presence is enough. In the last 5 years, I've BEGGED all the directors to conduct seminars. Now understand right up front, some directors have specific duties assigned that prevent them from doing a seminar (like me running the seminars or Danny Owens running the competition area, and others), but the majority of them don't have any such duties. I actually had on ass tell me, "I only give one seminar a year and I've already obligated it to WTC."

So next time you start your cheeze and whine, remember WHO ACTUALLY SELECTS THESE BOARD MEMBERS. If you're a member YOU DO! If you don't like the way business is being conducted by them, then vote for someone who WILL work for you and the membership.

where ya at?

Where in East Tn are you located? I might be able to help you out. Only if you are close enough to pick it up in person..Tn laws are very strict about any bear parts including grease.
