I have some questions on mounting a river otter. First of all can I pickle, alum tan and mount or should I degrease somewhere between? If so then when and any suggestions? Tumbling as well? Also can anyone tell me what they eat? this is so I can mount the otter with the appropriate food they eat as requested by the customer. I have done alot of mounts on a variety of animals but never an otter. Thanks in advance for all your help on this.

When you do, you'll know what they eat...they're some fishy smelling boogers! They mount rather easy compared to other mammals because of the short legs and pliable skin. An earlier post recommended a ventral or case incision, rather than dorsal, because their short hair. And, try not to cut into their musk glands, or you'll be smelling otter musk for a while!
