A few questions on mouting a coyote

I have been doing small mammals for a couple years now, and I have just been given my first coyote to attempt a full mount. For some of my minks and other critters I have used Van Dyke's "instant preserve" and have had success with it so far on the small critters, but I am afraid that IP might not be a good option, and that I should just go ahead and actually tan him out. Does anyone have any thoughts? (I also received an otter, but I am scared to attempt him until I know if IP will work?) I am also wondering what is best along the lines of the nose, am I better off saving the real one or going with a fake one? Thanks a lot! George

Hey sorry about the instant preserve question...I found a ton of info in the archives, so ignore that one. :) But I would still like some input on the nose. Thanks!

how the real nose looks - you will have enuf problems on your first coyote without adding a fake nose into the mix - by the way a fake nose looks great - i mount in excess of 75 coyotes and shoulders so if i can help you email me direct - check out my shoulder mounting instructions at:
