I've done dozens of deer leg thermometers, but never a buffalo leg. Any suggestions on methods or materials?

I THINK they carry a leg form for a caribou. Just split it and alter it with foam to fit OR carve one out of a piece of foam. I never thought about it, but I suppose you could just sew the leg up, mix some foam, and pour it down inside. Clean up the overflow with lacquer thinner before it hardens.
Your last idea works about sewing and then pouring in the foam but a cleaner way is to put a plastic bag inside first then pour in the foam that way it wont stick to the hair .Rick
