For those out there that pick up roadkill..You may want to check your state laws regarding that..In ILLINOIS you CANNOT pick up roadkill..the only exception is whitetail deer.the other animals are illegal to posses due to the fact that they were"NOT LEGALLY TAKEN".as we all know there are short cuts around that, but in this day and age where they try everything to set people up to bust them it just isn't worth it to me..Rich

MONTANA! I asked the game warden about it a few years ago and what he said made sense. The HOOPLEHEADS would be running down critters with their vehicles if this law didn't exist. Up here that is very believable.
in Texas either.
BP
Has the same rule. No roadkill!
not in michigan.
The rule is that the animal must be in season and you must posess the proper license as well as include that specimen in your daily bag limit.
The laws are pretty similar here in north dakota to that of the michigan roadkill laws. I just picked up a mink, a coon, and a skunk this morning. All perfectly prime. Skinning them was an experience though.LOL
I got a chuckle out of reading your post. They definately present some unique challenges.
