Getting ready to mount my first lifesize coyote. I'm am using a standing form by McKenzie (CY101LS). Should I remove the head for mounting? I dorsal skinned, but I did'nt go but half way up the neck to keep from sowing as much. Do you think it would be better to just go ahead and cut up to the base of the skull and make a few more stitches? Also Is there any promblem areas that I should be aware of During and after mounting? What are some things that you do to add extra realism to the mount?

You might have to cut the head either way. Even if you cut the skin further up, it will be hard to get the head in without cutting. Try it first before you cut. It may go ! Good Luck !
Make a v cut in the form. Look straight on at the chest and make your v from the top of the shoulder blades so that the point of the v goes into the chest. This way, when you get the head in the skin, your can pitch the head back up into the v and it will lock in place in proper alignment. Secure with your choice of adhesive and cross pin with heavy wire. It beats sewing.
it is much easier and therefore faster to just cut the form in the middle - slide legs and head in and bondo back together - SHAZAM
to show you; there is always more than one way to fix a problem! I might just try the middle cut the next time myself.
cut in the middle. I guess that pretty much sums up the way I will be doing it. I was thinking of cutting me some short pieces of # 9 wire and leave them protruding out of one half then glueing with quick set apoxy. Would this work. Will the bondo work better?
