I'm mounting the cat on bc-39 from McKenziewhich is leaping with one leg (the front legs) reaching for something & the other ,the left down by its side. I guess I have to cut it off...but where?

Cut the body in half with a v cut not straight across. You can get the leg work and head done the bondo body together. The v cut will help line the 2 body halves back up exactly.
Yep do this all the time, except I staple the form to gether as I am allergic to something in the bondo. No problems.
I just did this one 3 weeks ago. Now I just started taxi'in last year and just tackled it with no advice or help, so I dont know if it's right but I had to shave quite a bit off of body and hind legs and idid this with a sawsall then rasped to look right, then as I started to mount i found out that I cound not just put hide on, so I cut in half(i did not v cut cuz i did not know that but) then I mounted the rear and started the front and found i could not get both legs in so I cut the right(the down leg) off flush with the body then put that in seperate. Now i did have problem with the fit and had to shave and reposition this leg so now it was more upward like the other but not.But once I got it all to fit so I could put together I bondo'd the leg on where it looked best, Then bondo'd the 2 halves together(which I also had to take about a 1-1/2" out of) Then sew'd up. Turnout was greater tHan I expected after modifying, And I mounted a flying Pheasant and took 4" screw through left paw right through pheasant back. Good luck, Mike
