Hey, I just have a question. I just bought a fleshing tool (heres a pic) http://www.minntrapprod.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=217_129&products_id=983
I am in the process of pickeling my coyote skin (hair on) and after i rehydrated it i tryed suing this tool for the first time,, and it did nothing.... its not sharp, maybe as charp as a butter knife IF THAT. should I try to sharpen it? whats the best way to use it, just pull down the hide with it?
I had read on here the tips for making a fleshing tool with doeen handle with a cut in it, and a bandsaw doubled over. How exactly do you use it,push it up the hide? would the teeth in the bandsaw 'dig into' the hide?
thanks for the info.

It's used to scrape excess fat and meat off the the hide as you'd scrape Ice off your windshield. Pull the hide over a fleshing beam and pull the flesher down the hide. Any good FLESHING knife is not sharp at all.
