is a pronghorn antelope a horned or antlered animal? I know...dumb question but I have never mounted one.

Definitely horned. The horn sheaths (black outer horn) needs to be removed from the inner core (bony structures) and treated/cleaned before mounting. The archives have lots of info on how to accomplish this.
Not a dumb question--let me share a story (LOL).
I remember when I was a kid (12 years old?) a friend of my Dad brought a pronghorn home from Montana, and asked me to mount it. Being a kid from central Illinois back in the 60's when even antlered whitetail were rare, Moantana seemed like a different planet, and I'd never seen a pronghorn.
Soooooo, my buddy and I take on the task of this "neck mount" pronghorn, get it all mounted up with DP, and are really proud of our work. Two weeks into the drying period, all this stinking, reddish fluid starts draining out of the horn bases. We had no clue what it was, but knew it wasn't a good sign. Using our technology of the day, we kept soaking the horns with denatured alcohol until things eventually dried up. Of course, the horns were loose on the bases, and I told my Dad's friend not to touch them, or they may fall off!
That's how I learned the hard way the difference between mounting horned animals and antlered animals. (This forum didn't exist back then, but I wish it had!)
Good luck!
