Fox ear Slippage

While turning the ears on a red fox tonight Somehow I managed to pull off a patch of hair from the back of the ear about the size of a quarter. Then to make matters worse I lost the patch of hair. What would be the best way to fix it when Its time to mount?

to add; the skin did not tear, the patch of hair just slipped, leaving a bald spot.

use flocking to fix

I used to have that problem with hair slipping on fox ears.
Here is what I do now and have had no slipping ...start skinning the fox while it is still semi-frozen and keep the head wrapped in a very cold wet towel. Also wear gloves while skinning those thin areas to help prevent your hand temperature from warming the ears too quickly.
Hope this helps you in the future.

Don:
I just had this happen to me. This is what I tried and it worked.
I took a coyote scrap, and cut it as close to the skin as I could, and modgepoged it to the fox ear. then trimmed it to the length of the fox ear, and painted it black. Good luck
