help coyote skinning, tanning

Submitted by mark on 3/28/06 at 9:42 PM. ( a-bryant ) 209.240.205.61

Im getting ready to skin a coyote for a wall hanging. Should I leave the paws on or cut them off? Also i have seen pelts tanned with the face and ears shriveled up. Is there any way to prevent this when tanning? Im new at this and need help.

If you think the feet would look cool on a wall hanging then leave them on. It's all a matter of opinion and what you would like. I can't help you on the shriveling part though. Sorry.

Ear liners

Place some ear liners in the ears. Ears are the only thing I ever see shrivel up. Ear liners will keep the cartilage from rolling the ear
