having a hard time split mink and squirel lips

any advice would be great i am using an exacto knife does anyone have something they prefer over this

sometimes you can get them started on the wire wheel and finish them with your knife.

Todd I dont touch the lips with a knife anymore I use a dremel just turn the head inside out put it over a 1" broom handel with a round end use the little brass wire brush (came with mine but you can buy them any where)start at the corner the mouth and you can roll the lips up on the round end of the broom work toward the nose then the chin same on the other side it also removes the flesh. I use a variable speed dremel on the lowest speed 5000 rpm I have done about 15 squirrels with it and cant belive how easy it works and I havent messed one up yet.I use to cut through the lips all the time with a scaple Jerry
