denatured alcohol for ears?

I watched a video last night on mounting a bobcat. The guy never turned the ears, just skinned about 1" up the ear canal. He then injected alcohol (I'm assuming denatured alcohol?) into the ears. Secured w/ cardboard for drying & that was it. Has anyone used this method? What were your results?

They look great long enough to get them out of your shop. After a few years they are curled. I know, I've done it on lots of mammals. I was visiting a friend a few yrs ago and saw a fox I had done for him. The ears were pathetic. I immediately stopped this except on small animals such as squirrels.

Kind of what I thought

Thanks for the feedback. That's kind of what I thought the response would be. It just sounded too easy.

sells this tape and Tommy Ramage was the person doing the demo?

Dan and Tommy were freinds, but Tommy's work always sucked.
