Do you have to shave all the fat off the skin or is there something I can use to dissolve it.

Darrell, Easy soak off solution for fat removal?--I don't know about one but you need to remove all of the fat and it's really not difficult. If you are going to tan the skin, rub salt on the hide and let set a few hours, scrape the skin with a knife and the fat will roll away easily. If you are going to dry preserve instead of tan just rub borax on the skin and scrape with your knife. If you are air drying the skin it's just you the fox and your knife. Enjoy, Aaron H.

Thanks Aaron. I didn't figure as much, I don't do many foxes in fact this is my first. It almost seames like a gel. It is easily scraped but didn't know if there was anything new out there especially for the consistancy of this stuff. I am going to see how a fish flesher works on it.
