I have a raccoon mounted on the McKenzie artificial limb and would like to know how most of you all attache this limb to the wall? The limb is approximately 36" long and split on one end. Thankyou.

I don't know if this is right but

I took a paddle bit 1" and went in each end ( top of forked in and the opposite side) about 1/2". Then at the bottom of the hole I drilled a 1/2" bit in about 3 inches. I then took a wire 12 ga. and made it in to a u shape that would go down the hole and bend up to almost the top of the hole the paddle bit made. Once I had the length right I bent a small loop on the two ends of the U and epoxied it in. once the epoxy kicked off in the hole I poured more up toward the u leaving just enough for the screw to hook behind left unepoxied. Hope this helps I also sent the customer two wall grabber type screws and shoed him how they worked just in case. It held the limb tight to the wall and the bottom of the fork I just allowed to rest on the wall

I also made a template for the customer by laying the limb on top of some construction paper. With the (bobcat in my case) mounted on the limb you can trace it out and then cut it so that your customer can try it out in several locations before placing holes in their wall.

Ed,
I've had a raccoon lying on a limb attached to my wall (just a straight limb) and all I used was a saw tooth hanger from McKenzies. Haven't had any problems with it. The limb is hanging on a 1" wood screw that goes through a wall of 3/4" pine. Good luck.

Mike
