Max, Can't say for sure but this might be a coydog- cross of a dog and coyote. Head looks mostly dog to me but then with old taxidermy many deer look like dogs to me. I would say it is not red wolf. Tail is terrior like but thin haired tails are common on coyotes in some areas and certain times of the year. If this rug has the natural teeth the canines look more dog like also- if they are artificial that of course indicates nothing. You asked about the going price for repairs on rugs. There are no "going prices" as each job is different. Looks like this rug needs quite a bit of touch up and maybe some sewing repairs. I would think it would come down to time and an hourly charge. The taxidermy quality is not great and no amount of repair will change that.--Aaron H.
If you are in the USA there is a set of laws collectively called "truth in advertising". If you are in the USA, and not 100% sure it is an endangered red wolf, you may not represent it as such. Putting photos from Google on the page with the rug is misleading. Again, get a CITES pre-act cert. for it (unless DNA shows it's a coyote :) or it's not legal to sell or transport across state lines.
They tend to look "doggish" in real life. The dash guy has it right.
I put the google photos of a red wolf to see if you guys can see if the rug compares at all to the images. In No way "am I presenting it" as a red wolf, and sure as hell not "advertising", I posted it here wondering if it was, thank you for your time, I will be taking it to the local fish and game to get their opinion.
You can plainly see the distinctive markings in the live photos and they are not showing up, even faded, in the rug animal. The white feet and the face markings are not showing at all. Likley it is a coydog or a plain dog.
