help mounted tanned coyote loosing fur in spots a week later

I mounted a coyote last week which was tanned with McKenzie tan. Some fur seems to be falling out in spots where the skin is still moist, spots that havent quite dried yet. If i barely touch the spots, the fur comes out pretty good. so what i did was pull out some of the loose loose stuff, cut out the bare skin, put a little more hide paste in the hole and sewed it back together. I put a fan on it now so it will dry out quickly. Also, the spots have a slight smell to them, is it because its been damp for a week, i know i spread the tan on the coyote well so the spots should have soaked in the tan. I hope and pray this works. Will the hair tighten up when it is dried? THis is a customers mount. Ive mounted quite a few mammals and havent had this problem. The shop i keep them in is always about 77 degrees in side-is it to hot to dry out or what. WIth the coyote tanned i cant believe it is falling out at all, even though its been damp for a week. Whats your opinion- Thanks
