I was called by a customer who wants to have a pet cat which died of old age mounted.I dont really know why they want their pet mounted but I did not know what to tell them in terms of price or even if it is possible.Has anyone ever been confronted with this from a customer? Is freeze drying a good option to offer them? Can anyone recommend a service that they have used with good results?

Pets can sure help as a nice side line. Have a chihuahua in the dryer now, a pomerian waiting. Check out my web for the cat we just finished. Give me a call if you want to work something out. Don

...Anthony, I have seen quite a bit of pet preservation, but none as supurb the quality as yours. After spending 15 years in Veterinary medicine prior to my career in taxidermy, I had many clients contact me for pet preservation. I did not offer this service so I would research other avenues for them. Never have I seen such realistic work as yours. You truely have captured the personality of each pet, which is a very difficult task.
My personal opinion is that pet taxidermy is wacko, but each to thier own.
I wouldn't touch a pet with a ten foot pole. Anyone that is wierd enough to mount a pet, is going to be a pain in the ass.
If some one wants you to take care of a pet for them I would do it. The pet must have meant alot to them or they wouldn't be asking. Call Wildlife creations I know they do freeze drying. Very nice guys # is 256-378-5901 if you want to call them. I know they are very reasonable with the prices.
