I am setting a bear claw for a friend. After I soaked it, it started to flake a little bit. What is the best way to seal it so that it looks smooth yet natural.

I would probably use a type of matte finish, like those you use on bird bills, and feet. It'll seal it and it won't shine, giving it a natural look. You can get matte finish from a craft store.
