replacing coyote ears

Have both ears damaged and slipped. I have a set of "spare ears".
Please recommend a fix.
a. cut ears off at scalp and attached by sewing.
b. cut only the top/one-half of ear that needs replaced and glue to earliner, then glue bottom ear to earliner
c.pleae recommend a fix "how to do"

I recently mounted a raccoon that had a slipped ear, so I just cut off that ear and used a replacement one from another coon.

use the whole ear

The fur at the base of the ear is longer, thicker, and less scrutinized. It's easier to hide sewing at the base of the ear. Use the whole ear unless you are just going to flock and paint a tiny slip.

If we lived in a PERFECT world and ALL the animals we received were PERFECT than we would have no problems.Would you throw away a customers cape or hide if it had a bad ear?and a waist it would be to throw everything away that was not PERFECT.even if one skins an animal PERFECTLY it still has to go to the tanner, and WE ALL know what that means(unless you tan your own)This is what separates the good from the great. It takes a good taxidermist to make a great hide look good BUT it takes a great taxidermist to make a bad cape look great.

i would not throw away...
