I m just getting started to do mammals, a customer has brought me a raccoon pelt thathe himself tried to do something with. He has salted it and let it dry it now is as stiff as a board. He wants me to see if I can make it softer for him. I have a few ideas but still Iam cluless on the process and would like to hear some info. Thanks for your time.

go to McKenzie's website or call them and ask for the kit to tan. They have a complete tanning kit with oil. It's hard work getting it real soft but the video that accompanies the kit will show you step by step. Hope it helps
