Black Bear Nose/Rugshell

I have done one rug,mt Lion. I used fake nose with it and I really liked it. I have a Bear to do and was wandering if the black bear nose in the McKenzie catalog would work. Page 554 bottom left corner, item # BN53M, size med.. I rehydrated head and got a 4 3/4 X 12 measurement. The form I chose is 4 3/4 X 10 3/4. Next size up was 5X 12. Do you agree with form I picked. It is closed mouth. Also chose med. earliners. Any problems with this? Thanks for any help/tips.

If you still have the nose on the cape you can get a rough estimate of how big it is and go to the corresponding size in the catalog. If the nose is gone, ask McKenzie which one is the best fit. For what its worth, I think those noses run a bit big. Their medium is a "big" medium.

Another option is the castlip form. Ive used it and the repro noses from McKenzie and Buckeye. They all do a good job and I think its personal preference.
