Just skinned a coyote. When I scraped the layer of fat off, a lot of hair was exposed, like it grew completly thru the skin and into the fat. Is this winter hair that grows like this? There is no way to remove the fat without exposing this hair, or is there? I've skinned other ones out before, and they were the same way.

The pelt is not prime. You 'overscraped' it, which is how the hair ended up in the fat. If you tumble this pelt, you will get the famous 'fuzzy leather'. Pelts like this often dry with a stiffer leather without tumbling, so be prepared for some work.
