I am starting my first squirrel and want to know do I have to tan the hide or can I use dry preservative.

Some people dry preserve small critters like squirrels, but tanning is definately the best. It's not a big deal to do, so why not? Besides, it's fun to tell the kids "it's time to stir the squirrel!"
