Life size Antelope (price)

Submitted by Dave on 4/11/99. ( )

I have 2 life size antelope to mount, I have done many life size deer
yet in my neck of the woods we dont get a lot of request for lifesize antelope, & yes the work I do is very good... :) had to pause to pad my back. I use no cheep tan's only lutan-f with formic acid & top of the line forms , eye's etc I think you know what i'm saying. so if at all possible don't say it depends on the work, I'm just trying to get an avg. Thank"s so much. One is a large buck & one is a large doe. both in a standing pose with no base work.

Call some GOOD TAXIDERMIST in your area, and ask them. Then go 15 % higher than the most expensive one.

Have you done any large lifesize? Can you alter the forms? Are you going to need help? Next are you qualified to do the mount? $3,000.00 would be a minumim to about $6,000.00. John C

Contact breakthrough magazine and ask them for their issue
with the price survey in it. You can get a feel for what
others are charging in your area. It has helped me. Also
go to the Taxidermist web site section on Taxidermy.net
There are loads of Taxidermist with their price list posted.
Granted some are way to low but you can make a judgement for
what others are charging... If you have done
Life size deer I would think an antelope would be
comparable to the deer(the horns take a little more time).
Charge what the market will bear.......Good luck.
