Hi, thank you for any help in advance.
I'm an art teacher and I'm looking to embed delicate materials like leaves and flowers in a crystal clear resin. The idea is for multiple students to take the same plant home and keep it looking new.
Silk plants don't have the exacting realism we need as this is for a botanical studies course.
My technical background is in metallurgy and jewelry, so I could coat the flowers in sealant and then electroplate them in copper. But while that preserves most of the form, it eliminates the natural colors.
I understand I can seal a flower with a polymer spray and then I want to embed in crystal clear, rock hard polymer. One of the problems I understand is the polymer will create enough heat to bleach the color out of the flower and will cause the flower to wilt before it cures in the block.
Please advise and I really appreciate any help you can give.

I like envirotex lite, though I havent used it on real flowers but the stuff works great for anyting else, plus its reasonably priced. 2 part resin, easy to mix 50/50. For the price its got to be worth a shot. Available at some craft stores and taxidermy supply companies like WASCO and McKenzie. Good luck, Mark www.natures-reflection.com
