I am trying to build a mold, and I use potty filler to fill the defect on the mold, and my question now is what can I use to cover the mold with to have a perfect shinny surface on the mold so I can wax and spray release agent. I heard I can use acrylic lacquer, can I use the spray can that they sell at home depot? or any other suggestion?
My other question is what kind of wax is mold release wax? can regular car wax work? Any help would be appreciated.

First you need to tell us what the mold is make of . Is it plaster or fiberglass ? Once you tell us this , then we can help you . The part you are filling the defects on is called a plug , not a mold . Rick
