Johnsons paste wax.
Rain Dance at wal-mart dirt cheap.
but I used to work at a boat factory in college. If you want a good gelcoat I wouldn't go cheap. I think Van Dykes carries a mold release wax, but it's in a gallon can. I think it is the same stuff that the boat company used. Put it on and buff it out with cheese cloth.
