I have never used resin before but I am building a coffee table and I would like to cover the top with sand, shells and mini marine life figurines. I want to have a smooth, flat surface. Do I need to make a recession in the top of the table and pour the resin directly onto the table? I have read a few postings where people say the resin shrinks, which scares me lol. I just need major help if anyone has any advice!
